This Is What the Orchard Is For
The Flying Day, the Summer Kitchen Disco, and a summer worth booking.
The Flying Day
Last Saturday, the Orchard Barn did what it does best.
Planes overhead. Families on the grass. Food from the Orchard Barn kitchen, cold drinks from the airstream, and Steak and Honour bringing their van to the party. The Flying Day brought the whole community together, and together, you raised £700 for William Westley Primary School.
This is what the Orchard Barn is for. Not just weddings and events, but moments like this, where great food, open space, and good people make something worth remembering.
It's not something you can manufacture. It just happens when the setting is right and the invitation is open. People who've lived down the road from each other for years, standing around sharing food and actually talking. Children running across the grass. The kind of afternoon that's difficult to put into words without sounding like you're overselling it. You had to be there.
That figure, £700 raised for the local primary school, is the result of a community showing up. Thank you to everyone who came, who bought food, who brought their families. It was a brilliant day, and you made it one worth remembering.
What's Next — Summer Kitchen Disco
Friday 19th June · 6–11pm · £10 entry · 18+
If the Flying Day was the community gathering in the afternoon light, the Summer Kitchen Disco is what happens when the sun goes down and the music turns up.
Same open-air setting. Same Airstream bar open all night. Food cooked over fire, the way it should be. There's something about wood-fired cooking that you simply can't replicate, the heat, the char, the flavour, and it'll be at the heart of the night.
Fox and Braces are back behind the decks. If you've been to one of our previous nights, you already know what to expect. If you haven't, this is your introduction.
The barn will be looking its best under the stars. Grab your friends, get down to the Orchard, and make a night of it.
Tickets are £10 — available now via the link in our bio.
June at Brix + Mortar — The Outdoor Space Is Open
May is when Brix + Mortar comes into its own outside.
The courtyard is open. The stretch tent is up. The food is still coming off the wood-fired hearth, the menus are turning with the season, but now there's open sky above you and enough room to settle in and take your time over it.
Whether it's a long Sunday roast with people you haven't seen in a while, a table for two on a warm evening, or a group who want somewhere that feels considered without feeling precious, this is the version of Brix + Mortar that summer was made for.
Tables go quickly in the summer months. If you have a date in mind, now is the time.
Book a table at Brix + Mortar or get tickets for the Summer Kitchen Disco, we'd love to see you!
