Provenance wins Best Restaurant and Best Wedding Supplier at the Cambridge Edition People’s Choice Awards 2026

Some things are hard to put into words. The feeling of the first fire lit on a cold Wednesday morning. The sound of a table that’s been laughing for three hours. The moment a couple sees their wedding venue for the first time and just, knows.

These are the things we build around at Provenance. So when the Cambridge Edition People’s Choice Awards 2026 results came in, and we’d been named both Best Restaurant and Best Wedding Supplier, it stopped us in our tracks.

Not because we’d won. But because of who did the voting.

Best Restaurant — Brix + Mortar

Over 2,500 people cast votes across this year’s awards. That’s 2,500 people choosing to take a moment to recognise the businesses they love. The fact that Brix + Mortar came out on top in the restaurant category means a great deal to every one of us.

Cambridge Edition noted our “outstanding service and wood-fired, locally sourced seasonal British ingredients”, and that, in a sentence, is what we’ve always tried to be. The hearth at the centre of our Whittlesford restaurant isn’t just a cooking method. It’s a commitment. To slowing things down. To letting good ingredients speak for themselves. To the kind of meal you don’t rush.

Menus change with the seasons because they have to, because the best produce available in April is completely different from what’s at its peak in October, and we’d be doing both the farmers and our guests a disservice by pretending otherwise. What stays constant is the fire, the care, and the welcome.

This award belongs to the whole team. To the kitchen crew who tend the hearth every service. To the front of house who make every table feel like the best seat in the room. And to the local growers and suppliers who make the food worth cooking in the first place.

Best Wedding Supplier — The Orchard Barn

Weddings are one of the few occasions where everything matters. The light, the food, the feeling in the room, the moment the music starts. At The Orchard Barn, we’ve spent years thinking about how to hold all of that carefully.

Cambridge Edition highlighted the “magical experiences” we create here, the bespoke menus, the open-sided barn, the orchard, the Airstream bar, the stretch tent, the Cambridgeshire countryside stretching out around it all. But what makes it work isn’t just the setting. It’s the way every wedding feels like it was built from scratch, because it was.

No two couples want the same day. Some arrive knowing exactly what they want; others need the space to figure it out. Our events team love both. They’re the kind of people who remember the small details, anticipate the questions before they’re asked, and find genuine satisfaction in handing over a day that exceeds what anyone imagined.

To every couple who has trusted us with their wedding, thank you. This one’s for you.

Thank You

Awards like these are only possible because people show up, to eat, to celebrate, to vote, to come back. If you’ve dined with us, raised a glass at one of our events, or gathered around a long table in the orchard, you’re part of what this recognition reflects.

We’re grateful to Cambridge Edition for championing the independent businesses that make this region what it is, and we’re glad to be counted among them.

As for what comes next: the same thing it always is. Lighting the fire. Seeing what’s in season. Making it worth the journey.

We hope to see you soon.

Book a table or explore our wedding and events spaces, we’d love to welcome you.
